With everyone in panic mode, peace seems like a forgotten commodity. We are like Martha, we are worried and upset, we are concerned about many things. We are, as Grandma would say, stuck in the weeds.
It’s not so much that we are worried about contracting the virus, but we are worried about the economic impact on us and our families. We are worried about what it will do to our jobs. We are worried about being isolated from everyone we know. We are worried about how to deal with our kids while they are at home. We are worried about not being able to see our grandkids. We are just anxious, fearful and worried.
I don’t believe God sent this COVID-19 virus, but I know it did not take Him by surprise. The devil unleashed a plan to wipe out a big portion of the world and God unleashed His plan to draw us closer to Him. That will be the only thing that brings us peace.Yet, we search for peace in so many things other than God. One of the biggest things we turn to is food. We find ourselves eating outside of the boundaries we’ve set for ourselves. We find ourselves stress eating.
