This is my story. It’s not pretty. It’s not a nice, neat story. It’s a real-life story about my journey. Losing 250 pounds took me a long time and I learned a lot along the way. I learned what not to do. I learned what is necessary to do in order to live healthily and keep the weight from finding me again.

Because of what I have learned God called me to help others on their journeys. I do that in Overcomers Academy. Listen to my journey and make an intentional commitment to change your lifestyle. I needed a mentor to show me what to do and lead me in how to surrender the foods I loved to God. It wasn’t easy. It was hard, but it was worth it.

I do not offer quick fixes. You have likely tried all of them and they haven’t worked. So let’s get serious about really changing our habits to learn how to live a more healthy lifestyle, losing the emotional weight we carry as well as the physical.

This is my story.

There was a time when I was small. We all begin that way.

Through the years I grew. Growing is one of the jobs of a child, but it still didn’t keep me from being teased.

Even as a teen I was not heavy, but as most teenagers, I thought I was.

When I became an adult, I kept growing but in all the wrong ways.

It became hard to walk and even harder to keep up with my kids.

I dreaded going to public events but I would do it for my kids.

I wanted to lose weight, but I couldn’t figure out how to stop eating.

I came to the point of exhaustion and just wanted to die so I wouldn’t be a burden to my family.

Then God helped me realize I needed to live for my family.

With His help, I started my journey in 2004. By 2013, I’d lost 250 pounds and have kept it off.

And God asked me to write a book about it, Sweet Grace. This year, I released my sixth book, Sweet Surrender.

Then, God asked me to begin coaching women who have similar issues to mine.

I’ve been interviewed on Christian television shows like Babbie’s House and many others.

In 2019, God called me to begin a podcast so I did.

Every day there are new challenges, but I love living this new life.

There is nothing I love more than helping women break the bondage of weight gain and food addiction.
