In January 2011, we had a large snowfall. Our yard was covered and the trees dripped frozen beauty. Today, Dec. 6, 2011, it starts again. Mother Nature in all her glory.

The snow falls softly
And blankets the world in its grace.
The trees are covered
With Mother Nature’s special kind of lace.

We rail against her
And rev the motor up high.
Speed off down the road
Only in a ditch to lie.

Still Mother Nature sighs
And keeps crying her silent tears.
She wills lives to be put on hold
Til we let go of individual fears.

War in Afghanistan
And why Occupy Wallstreet?
Economy plummets
And everyone wants to retreat.

“Let everything cease for one day,”
Says she. “Let it be so
For two days, a week, a month. Stop.
Let it snow. Let it snow. Let…it…snow.”
